As I have noticed that my Trophy is a bit slow out of the hole when the boat is full of fuel and several people are aboard, I decided that trim tabs would help. However, I did not want to have to add additional electrical and/or hydrolic lines and pumps to the boat. After a bit of research, I decided to give the Nauticus automatic trim tabs a try. Especially, considering the price I paid for them.
One issue with the Trophy 1802 when considering trim tabs is the contoured transom. After contacting Nauticus Inc., sending detailed photos of the transom, and speaking to John (the owner of Nauticus Inc.), I decided on the Mobster Tabs.

At first, I was a bit skeptical of some of the reviews and testimonials of the Nauticus Trim tabs. However, after using them on the boat for a full season, I can honestly say they are a definite improvement, especially in getting on plane and maintaining plane at lower speeds.
