Here, I wanted to make functional use of the space behind an access panel to the wire chase tube to the stern of the boat. I was able to obtain a 7x11 hatch (BOMAR Brand) that fit the space with very little modification to the bulkhead. Now, I have easier access to the chase tube, while having additional storage for smaller items.
Note: on the lower right-hand corner you can see the cabin step, under which the forward bilge pump is located. You may be able to notice that my 1802 does not contain the usual carpet lining on the step and the sole of the cabin, but a hard vinyl liner similiar to what is found on the higher end Trophy models. This was not indicated in the factory specification. But I like it as it makes for easier clean-up, and I don't need to be as concerned with keeping the carpet liner clean.
